radio producer/host/audio tech

I have been in music radio in overnights, nights, and a morning show host. I am currently an executive producer and morning radio personality in Minneapolis-St Paul. Through my many years in radio, I use my audio editing skills to enhance, edit and capture audio for my paranormal investigations on a professional level.

As a nineteen-year-old, I started my radio career in Springfield, Mo at an adult contemporary station. that is an industry term to describe a format, which in layman’s terms means: doctor’s office music. it’s never going to offend anyone, and it makes you feel slightly positive about going in to get your root canal. you’re not going to hear sexy music from prince, rock from Aerosmith, or soul music. think Amy Grant. but I was a teenager and I wanted something exciting! (I still don’t want to feel “just safe”).

It was an overnight shift, and during those long nights between talk breaks and during songs, I was listening to another radio station and program: coast to coast am with host art bell. if you don’t know what this is, please find old episodes on the internet. It was (and still is) a paranormal radio show. i was jotting down notes about ghosts, hauntings, near death experiences, unexplained phenomenon, aliens and cryptids. I would then go to the library and check out the books from guests on the show. as a college student and single mom, I didn’t really have a budget for buying new books.

Eventually, I made it through the adult contemporary format and got a job with the same radio group as a night-show host on a classic rock station, where I got the name, Dawn At Dark.  I still use that name in my paranormal world because it means to me, an awakening in the darkness.  It’s not just my name, it’s a personal mantra!  During our darkest times, we eventually learn.  And the night is when I connect to the spirit world through investigations.
